GLEN ARMSTRONG & THE DIRTY CLERGY - "Under A Van Gogh Sky" (1992)

Here's a song from a 1992 cassette by Glen Armstrong!

Glen Armstrong was one of the most talented guys I ever got a tape from, and this whole tape is brilliant and sounds like it should have been a major label release, so you can imagine how bad I felt a few years ago when I found out via the internet that Glen had passed away, broke, penniless, alone, and homeless! What a shocker it was to find out a few years later that Glen Armstrong is alive and well, and here's a link to some great music of  his you can buy on Amazon!

DON CAMPAU - Piñata Party (1988)

The 56th copy of "The Worm's Turn" I sent out went to musican/DJ Don Campau! He played it on his "No Pigeonholes" radio show, and sent me this amazing two tape release called "Piñata Party" in return! Here's a little taste of Don's special brilliance, the killer title tune: "Piñata Party"

JOHN BARTLES - "Snout" (1988)

I read a review of a John Bartles tape in Option magazine, so I wrote him and sent him a Guzanos tape,  and this is what he sent me back! Needless to say, I was blown away, and decided this tape trading was going to be fun! This was #122 of the tapes that I would mail out, or give away to anybody willing to listen!

HERMANOS GUZANOS - "The Worm's Turn" (1987)

So, in late 1987, Gary Wray, Brian James Riedel and myself took a bunch of our garage tapes to a studio and had them professionally mixed down! I'm not sure the engineer knew what was happening! We put it all together and made a cassette tape called "The Worm's Turn" and we called the band Hermanos Guzanos just to make sure there was no chance of commercial success, and it worked perfectly! We had 500 tapes mass produced, and it said "Hermanos Guzmanos" on the side of the boxes! I started sending them out to magazines, radio stations and people I'd read about it magazines! The artwork was done by Brian!

SLIM THE DRIFTER - "Stop Your Cryin" (1992)

So where should I start! How about the theme from an underground TV show called "Up Periscope" by my old pal Slim The Drifter off of his release titled "Here Comes A Lily!"
Slim lived hard and fast, so he's been gone for a few years now, but at least we've got this to remember him by!
