LORD LUNAR & HERMOONOS GUZANOS - "Surfin' On The Moon" (1990)

Well, I can't think of a better way to end this year than this tape that we did via the mail with Lord Litter back in the 90's. He sent us tracks, and we added our parts, and we sent him tracks, and he added his parts. Sounds like a lot of work, and it was, but it was also a whole lot of fun!
The name of the tape was "Surfin' On The Moon," and we rebranded ourselves as Lord Lunar & Hermoonos Guzanos.

Interestingly enough, this tape has one of the most unique tunes that we ever did on it, and for me, this song just screams Aloysius Snuffleupagus on a night out on the town! So here we go, as Gary always used to say when it was funny, "Happy Nuke Year!"

CONGO BONGO - "Theme For A Last Home Movie" (2022)

John Sanders of Crash-N-Burn, New Power Soul, and Zazerac has just finished another Congo Bongo song, and was kind enough to keep me informed so I can tell you all about it before this year is over. The world's a pretty shitty place these days, so thank goodness there are still guys like John Sanders who can provide us with some good vibes to listen to.
Let's literally end this year on a good note!

Congo Bongo is John Sanders - Yamaha YPT 310 rhythm settings, Yamaha P-125 Vibes, Ensoniq EPS Mellotron, Crumar Orchestrator strings and clavichord, Juno 6.

COOL YULE - "And To ALL A Good Night" (1996)

I don't often return to discs or tapes, but this Christmas various artists compilation CD put out by Rich Arithmetic in 1996 is just too solid to ignore, so lucky you on this Christmas Eve, you got an early gift courtesy of Rich and his friends and family! I gave you one song off of this disc two years ago, and now it's time for a completely different kind of Christmas song

This song is fueled by the phenomenal Ray Carmen. There was too much information for me to write, so here's who is doing what!
If you'd like to get your own copy of "Cool Yule," these days it is available through Rich's label
Don't be a yule fool, buy this CD and be kool instead!

JOHN BARTLES - "Sedative Amnesiate Antipody"

Well it wouldn't feel like the holidays unless we heard from my good friend John Bartles, so here's a short Christmas song from his "Sedative Amnesiate Antipody" CD that I'm sure will make you all cheery and bright!

Just in case that was too cheerful for you, here's something John dug out of deep hole in his soul just for you.

"Death Alley" was originally on a tape titled "Vanishing Animal," and features the incredible guitar talents of Jack Scheitt.

HERMANOS GUZANOS - "The Worm People" (1997)

"The Worm People" was released in 1997, and was the last tape Hermanos Guzanos tape ever made together. It was an interesting smorgasbord of crap.
Undoubtedly one of our most fully realized songs was on this tape, and Brian even made a cool video years later to accompany it.

There was plans for one more compilation tape called "Cream Of Worm Soup," using ours, and our friends music. It never did come to fruition, but Gary did make this cool mock up of a soup can. Eat your heart out Andy.

I was very lucky to work with such gifted artistes as Brian James Riedel who was responsible for this "Zomoid" comic.

And here's a sample of some of Gary Wray's comic art from the 1980's.

Here's just a taste of some of the 1000's of sculptures and works of art Gary has sold on eBay over the years. If you've got a couple of hours to waste, and are still looking for the perfect X-mas gift, then go check out the huge array of images on the

LONELY WHISTLE MUSIC SAMPLER - "Big Bacon" (1988)

If it seems like I'm doing a lot of stuff that has something to do with Don Campau lately, it's true, because I just have a lot of stuff from Don Campau! This tape was one of the earliest I got from Don. It was only a one sided tape, so of course he put one of his "No Pigeonholes" radio shows on the other side.

This tape featured music from Don and his friends and family!
It's a various artists compilation, but many of the tunes have Don singing or playing on them too!

Naturally, there's a ton of good music on here, like the tune by James Hill is a standout, but there's no way you can go wrong with a song about bacon.

This is the original tape this song came off of. I never had a copy of this tape myself, but I was able to find this cover image on Discogs.

Oddly enough, and as fate would have it, I just got an email from Lord Litter letting me know that Don Campau and Greg Gray have a new album out called "Truth and Rumors" that is now now available. Its free on bandcamp (Just enter zero at checkout)
In Don's own words, "This is more or less a 'rock' album, but some funky and loopy bits throughout
After decades of recording together, this is our first long distance collaboration."

NICOLA SCHULTZ - "Field of a String" (2022)

What I like more than anything about writing on this blog besides presenting more or less obscure music from the past, is discovering what I myself have missed, and trust me, there's a lot! One of my biggest sources of old and new music are Lord Litter's radio shows that stream forever on the Internet Archive, and that's how I recently came to know about Nicola Schultz, even though she has been recording since the late 80's. Lord Litter also told me that Nicola was a recommended listen to him by Don Campau, so it's yet another layer of the Don Campau trickle down effect!

Nicola is from Australia, and in the early 90's she sang and played Bass in a band named Swirl. Other members of Swirl were Ben Aylward on Guitar and vocals, David Lord on drums. Nicola left Swirl in 1997, and was replaced by Richard Anderson on bass guitar and keyboards and Keira Hodgkison on guitar and vocals. Swirl broke up in 2002 after releasing three albums.

Since those days Nicola has stayed busy working solo, and this year she released this album titled "Field of a String." The sensational song that Lord Litter played on his radio show was from this album and was titled "Sensation," which I just also happened to find on YouTube.

Do yourself a favor and go to Nicola's Website where you can get more details about this wonderful artist!

THE DAN SUSNARA LEGACY PROJECT (2022)

A very cool musician named Dan Susnara passed away a couple of weeks ago, and although I never corresponded with, or traded tapes with Dan, I remember seeing his name in the indie publications, and probably heard his music on one of Don Campau's radio programs. I know he will be missed by all his good friends, a lot of whom I wrote to back in the 80's and 90's.
Here's just a random sample of Dan's work that you'll be able to find on Bandcamp because of the work of another of Dan's friends, Dino DiMuro

To hear hours and hours of awesome music you missed over the last forty years, please go to:
and check it out! You'll be glad you did!
Here's also a link to one of Lord Litter's current radio shows that bid a sad farewell to Dan!
