HERMANOS GUZANOS - "Baldman" (1991)

"UFO Executives" was a tape we made in 1991. Somewhere there's a review by a guy who didn't particularly like our song "Bald Man," but his girlfriend thought it was genius! Written and sung by Brian J. Riedel, here's our ode to all the chrome domes and Pelóns out there.

I had this 1963 LP by The AFO Executives, and that's how we came up with the name UFO Executives!

A couple of years ago Brian made this video for "Baldman" to complete the package! I have never figured out why it never got played on MTV.

BUD KING - "Encyclical" (1994)

It's been a while since we've heard from Bud King, so here's a couple of hits off his 1994 CD titled "Encyclical."
For these incredible sessions, Bud enlisted the talents of Thing I and Thing II on Guitars, Mick Ibburas on Bass & Guitar, Ambidexterously and in Unison. Indris Timbi on Wind Harp and Eastern Indianal Transliteration, and "The Leprechaun" Nick O'Tine on Drums, Cigarettes, and Black Coffee!
"Recorded by different people, in different places, at different times in order to maintain diversity."

MISSING LINK MUSIC - "Sampler Tape" (1989)

"Missing Link Music" was a worldwide effort to distribute music by independent artists that was based in Seattle, Wa. It was kind of like what Bandcamp is today, except there were no computers, or streaming music, so it was a lot more difficult.

This was a sampler tape of what you could find on the MLM label, and here's a couple of prime examples!

I couldn't find any current information on Go Fish, but I did find this picture of a tape on the Tape-Mag website by the band IOXOI. I don't know for sure, but I'm assuming it's the same band and there was only one band with that name.

HYPERTONIA WORLD ENTERPRISES - "Pop Collection 1" (1989)

"Pop Collection 1" was a various artistes compilation of independent music from all over the world, and all put together by J.R. Bruun in Norway in 1989.
The cover drawing was done by Sverre H. Kristensen.

I believe this is one of the first comp tapes Hermanos Guzanos contributed to. All total I think we were on 40 different worldwide compilations!

Some of the other people who contributed to this project were Venus Fly Trap from England, Le Lu/Lu's & Yo-Yo, also from England, Lord Litter from Germany, Trigger B from Germany, James Hill from the U.S., The Acid Dreams from Germany, Modern Art from England, and Rites Of Post from England, and that's just Side One!

Side Two included The Flatmates from England, Rattus Rexx from Germany, Political Asylum from Scotland, Johnson's Fiver from England, Kevyn Dymond & Mark Shafer from the U.S., Anastasis from Germany, and The Detective from England.

Here's the second song from Side One, a band from Denmark,

MILE 97 - "Crucifixture" (1989)

I've been in a pretty foul mood lately considering what's going on in the world and all, and I have not been doing as many posts as I'd like, just because I haven't been in the mood, but maybe this tape by Mile 97 will snap me out of it!

This tape by Mile 97 titled "Crucifixture is fascinating, but whether that's a good or a bad thing is up to you. For right now, it's a perfect reflection of our world, and in one word, chaotic.

Mile 97 is not for everybody, but it might just be the right fit for your mind in these times. Turn it up real loud, break out the Hoover and start vacuuming the rug, and invite some friends over for a real good time! This is only seven minutes and forty-four seconds, the real piece is all of Side One. This sounds a lot like ghosts in a blender!
