 Today is the birthday of the high priest of modern day musical horror, 

the Right Reverend Thomas Frost, so to celebrate the occasion, let us rejoice in some music by the man himself!

 "The Lame Shall Enter First" was a self-produced CD by Tom in 2015!

In two words, it rocks!

 On most of the songs, Tom not only sings, but plays all the instruments himself.

He is the epitome of modern day D.I.Y. Music!

This is the face of the man who made me start writing blogs on movies and music some twelve years ago!

Believe it or not, on top of everything else, he is an amazing family man!

SOCKEYE - "The Loony Misadventures Of Your Dick" (1989)

Sockeye was from Stow, Ohio.

 They knew how to have fun, and this tape called "The Loony Misadventures Of Your Dick" is no exception. Proving that they were equal opportunity offenders, this tape is full of fun songs like "Peace Is Dumb," and "Vegetarians Are Wimps, and has something to annoy everyone, whether you like it or not, and Dave and his pals don't care if you do!

This is the kind of sense of humour I'm talking about!

Not being content with just making music, Dave also put out this dope zine called "Ear of Corn" on a regular basis for a while! This issue, # 3, had an interview with Hermanos Guzanos in it.

This was issue # 13 of "Ear Of Corn."

This tape has a lot of wild songs on it like "Cut Off Your Arm" that we did a cover of for a various artists compilation tape called "We Suck Worse, A Tribute To Sockeye," that I'll get around to one of these days. In the meantime, here's...

 Last year about this time I was out taking a walk listening to the newest of Lord Litter's radio shows on the Internet Archive. I like to walk three miles, and his shows run the exact amount of time it takes me to walk that distance! It's like perfect!

My health was all out of sorts and I was feeling weird, and then this song came on, and I was like "That's exactly how I feel!" 

Later I wrote Lord Litter and told him, and he wrote pStan, and the next thing you know, I'm in Pumf Heaven, and my health has been better ever since! Here's the song that started it all...Thanx pStan!!
HOWL IN THE TYPEWRITER - "Digital Sickness"

INSANE MUSIC FOR INSANE PEOPLE Vol. 16 (1987)

I need to go back through my box of letters and see if I can find out more info on this cassette, because I can't remember much about it.

It's a various artists compilation tape called "Insane Music For Insane People Vol. 16", and it features artists from all over the world including England, France, Japan, Sweden, Canada, Greece, and Belgium! They might be insane, but they're not lazy, because there were 25 volumes made in all!

"Insane Music" was the product of Alain Neffe from Belgium, and this tape is so good, I had a hard time picking out a song from it, but I finally did! Here's, from Belgium.........

LIZA NELIAZ - "Slogan"
(After I wrote this, I found out that sadly, Liza passed away from lung cancer at the age of 43 back in 2001. His birth name was Liza Néliaz, but he decided he was a female, and she became a major influence on the Belgian hardcore techno scene performing as Liza 'N' Eliaz!

 The 2nd Anniversary Issue of "Lively Arts" magazine had a Ratfink cover with artwork done by comic geniuses R.K. Sloane and Jeff Gaither!

 Among a host of other things, the same issue had this great little interview with Alain Neffe of "Insane Music."

JOHN BARTLES - "Audio Cartoons" 45 (1986)

Unless you're freakin' Nostradamus, you probably don't know that way before the whole cassette scene, John Bartles put out a seven inch 45 called "Audio Cartoons" as John Bartles & Code - 5.

The fantastic musicians involved were Terry Timothy playing guitar, Joey Bonavita on bass, Jack Bosarge on drums, and John Bartles doing the vocals! You're welcome!

SCEAMIN POPEYES - "Ah Squid" (Early 90's)

Years before SpongeBob SquarePants showed up, the Screamin Popeyes were having their own kind of undersea fun and games!

This release was titled "Ah Squid."

The Screamin Popeyes had a penchant for releasing one-sided tapes!

The songs are all strung together, so I hope I got the name right, but either way, there's something really fishy about this song!
