I've always loved this album by The United States Of America ever since I bought it in 1968, but I'm not quite sure why because I don't like a whole lot of it. It's just one of those kind of records. This band was doing whatever they wanted, and I'm not sure they ever had much success with it, but it's definitely unique to this day, and here's a good example. Don't expect anything normal, and you'll be just fine!
Interesting. I distinctly remember buying this LP back in the day but have no memory of this song, or any other song on the album. I just remember reading some good reviews of the album and then buying it on that basis. But if this track is any indication, I would've probably played the record only once or twice, at most.
ReplyDeleteActually, that song was very uncharacteristic compared to the rest of the record. but most of the rest of it was even less approachable.
