TOSHIYUKI HIRAOKA - "8 Songs Demo + Cabaret 3 Songs" (1990's)

This was one of two demo tapes I received from Toshiyuki Hiraoka in the early 90's that had some songs he had recorded at home, and three songs by a group he had recorded with called Cabaret. In the letter he stated that he was hoping to work more with Cabaret and that in the next year he planned on either moving to London or the U.S. I guess he came to America because he ended up being a composer for a number of horror movies in the U.S. from 2006 on, and is still doing it today.
I paid a little tribute to his work today also in our movie blog Dwrayger Dungeon!

LORD LITTER - "Torn Between Temptations" (1991)

By the 90's, artists started getting more creative with their packaging!
Not feeling confined to just the cassette case, people like Lord Litter were sometimes doing things different, and this is more the size of a 45 picture sleeve, about 7 inches square. The only bad thing about alternative packaging is where and how to store it. They just don't fit in with all the other tapes, and so consequently, I lost track of this tape for years until a couple of weeks ago!
The artwork was by Jouni Määräkangas from Silullinen Artcore, Finland and was based on a concept by Jan R, Bruun of Hypertonia World Enterprises!

The inside folded out to expose more information.
That's another flyer inside from the KFR (Kentucky Fried Royalty) years!
Today, Lord Litter is extremely busy with his website and multiple radio shows, and if you want to read all about it, you can go here!
And if you want to listen to an amazing array of music, head on over to the Internet Archive where he has radio shows galore you can peruse, and possibly get lost for days!

Because I don't think The Lord will mind, I'm going to present you with the first two songs from this tape to show you the variances in style Lord Litter had at his disposal!
On that song, Lord Litter did everything, except the tronics were supplied by Chris Phinney, and he used a sample from Vivaldi concerto!
The next tune is a mellow little acoustic number with the Lord playing all the instruments!

THE IMPORTANCE OF AIR DURING BAPTISM - Various Artists Compilation (1989)

"The Importance Of Air During Baptism" is the third compilation tape of various artists that we were fortunate to be a part of put out by Mike Tetrault!

Here is a very interesting piece that has a unique style that I don't think has been duplicated to this day!
You'll just need to check it out for yourself!

JAMES HILL - "Painful Contractions" (1984)

James Hill is a very talented trumpet player who first came to my attention because of his work on Don Campau's amazing double cassette called "Piñata Party."
I sent out a lot of unsolicited tapes to musicians, and I probably never heard back from about 20% of them, and who can blame them? Our music wasn't for everybody, and a lot of people just didn't have time, interest, or any inclination to reply! James Hill was one of those, and I think I told Don that it was too bad because I really liked what I had heard of his music, and so Don sent me this tape after that!
My favorite song on this tape was titled "Pussy Patrol" but a tune that better highlights James's talent is this!

BLINK TWICE - "Baby Had An Accident" (1993)

The other side of GPC #006 aka "Baby Had An Accident" was performed by Blink Twice!

I did find the VHS box for this tape, and it did indeed have a diaper in it, and then in another box of stuff, I found this "Baby Had An Accident" paperback book/magazine full of all kinds of reviews including our first tape. They called our music 'Sleazy."
It doesn't get much better than that!!

THE MAS - "Baby Had An Accident" (1993)

I was going through a bunch of loose stuff I have a couple of weeks ago, and I found a small cache of cassettes without cases and/or labels. Some of it seemed familiar, some not so much after 30 years.
One of those tapes was this split tape of electronic music with The Mas on one side, and Blink Twice on the other.
When I saw it was a GPC Production from Alientown, Pa, I remembered that I got quite a bit of stuff from Alex Kane who produced this tape, including a Sinister Attraction Record, and some videos, but I still couldn't figure out why there was no case.

I started grubbing around on the internet trying to come up with a date for this tape, and I didn't find anything on Tape Mag, but I did find this on Discogs, and then it all came back to me. The original case for this tape is actually the size of a VHS tape, and I'm sure mine is stashed away with some VHS tapes some place. IF I recall correctly, I think it came with a diaper inside!
So here you go!

THE HOWL IN THE TYPEWRITER - "Worlds Tour - LIVE on Saturn and Jupiter" Pumf Records (1985)

Here's another nifty package from pStan Batcow in the guise of The Howl In The Typewriter called  "Worlds Tour - LIVE on Saturn and Jupiter" that was originally a cassette released in 1985, but now presented as a CD with everything you need make your own cassette if you'd like!

This is Pumf release number 49 and is described in the Pumf Catalogue thusly:
"Two early live solo performances, during which audiences were pushed to the limit. Elements of the show included Howl watching TV on stage with his back to the auidence, whilst backing tapes screeched, guitars fed back, and drum machines clattered."
And personally I'd say, that's a pretty fine description!

The shows are cut up into shorter pieces to possibly make it more palatable!

The sample I'm giving you is track number two!
THE HOWL IN THE TYPEWRITER - "Explanation"

These are the enclosed cassette labels if you're making your own tape!

Do yourself a favor! Go order something, or at least go check it out!
