HERMANOS GUZANOS - "The Worm's Turn" (1987)

So, in late 1987, Gary Wray, Brian James Riedel and myself took a bunch of our garage tapes to a studio and had them professionally mixed down! I'm not sure the engineer knew what was happening! We put it all together and made a cassette tape called "The Worm's Turn" and we called the band Hermanos Guzanos just to make sure there was no chance of commercial success, and it worked perfectly! We had 500 tapes mass produced, and it said "Hermanos Guzmanos" on the side of the boxes! I started sending them out to magazines, radio stations and people I'd read about it magazines! The artwork was done by Brian!

  1. Hi, I remember Hermanos Gusanos from trading tapes through Factsheet 5 and all those other zines. I'm collecting songs inspired by Three Mile Island and I wanted to know when "Meltdown" was written and recorded. If it fits the theme, would I be able to include it with my "Radioactive Releases" post? http://tapewrecks.blogspot.com/2014/02/coming-in-march-on-tapewrecks.html
    Thanks,
    Tom

  2. Jeez Tom, I don't know why I never saw this comment until almost a month later, so sure, use anything you want if it's not too late. "Meltdown" was written and performed in one take in 1986 or 87!
